Gazella dorcas osiris
DESCRIPTION Considerably larger than the Moroccan or Egyptian races, and with longer horns. The general color is a pale brownish fawn.
DISTRIBUTION The entire Sahara region south of the Atlas Mountains and west of the Nile, except for the ranges of the Moroccan and Egyptian dorcas gazelles.
TAXONOMIC NOTES Includes two generally recognized subspecies: neglecta (plateau areas of western and central Sahara) and osiris (southern and eastern Sahara), with osiris Blaine, 1913 having priority.
